The “Map” Isn’t the Territory

December 29, 2009 Leave a comment

On December 12, 2009, the webmaster for mikeruppert.org received a letter written by an attorney on behalf of Mike Ruppert (MCR), addressed to the site’s host, requesting that said website be removed from the web for committing slanderous, harassing acts aimed at Mr. Ruppert. Of course mikeruppert.org does nothing more than re-print the written BOLI decision, of which Mike Ruppert was the losing respondent in September, 2009. It’s not surprising that Ruppert would want the site taken down, as not only does it outline a string of bad behavior on behalf of MCR towards Lindsay Gerkin that is verifiable (unlike much of what MCR has been writing for the past ten years), but also mikeruppert.org makes said report available to MCR’s readers and anyone else who is interested in the BOLI decision, and who has been invited to read the BOLI decision for themselves by MCR on his blog, but haven’t had the chance, for when the decision was made public, Ruppert made no move to post the decision or a link to the decision on his blog.

This is unfortunate, given that virtually all of what MCR’s followers have come to know about the latest conspiracy to discredit Mike Ruppert (aka the Oregon sexual harassment case) on behalf of the federal government and various shadow interests (i.e.. certain personalities in the federal, local, and state government, as well as past employees of Ruppert) has come directly from specious and terse, coded comments and claims made by MCR on his blog. In fact, it’s sad, given that Ruppert’s readers have yet again found it in their hearts to donate more than a reported $14,000 dollars to fund an appeal for a case that they haven’t taken the time to research, much less read for themselves. Of course they’re probably used to it, as this isn’t the first time that MCR has asked for alms.

Within the period that MCR has been MCR, The Public Figure, The Guru, Whatever, he has amassed hundreds of thousands of dollars in donations. When I worked for him donations were solicited to help pay for the much-needed move to Oregon, according to Ruppert — something that we, From The Wilderness, would need to do before the collapse of society, which at the time Ruppert predicted would occur, at first, in December ’06, and then January ’07, and on and on and on. When January turned to February, MCR divined societal collapse sometime during the end of the 2007 spring. As a slippery slope, it’s for us to predict what he would have done next, but then, of course there was the burglary, which in a sense was just the sort of distracting, galvanizing event that From The Wilderness and Mike Ruppert needed. That is, until (in my opinion) Ruppert’s scheme to gain sympathy and credit by staging a burglary in his new Ashland, Oregon offices backfired and he was singled out by the Ashland Police Department as the probable, guilty suspect in the case. From The Wilderness, now Inc., was already on it’s way down the tubes when Ruppert pathetically fled the country and applied for amnesty in Venezuela. At that point, MCR’s prophesy of collapse was correct — only in as far as his business and fantasy of a future life as Lord of the Rogue valley was concerned.

Returning to the U.S. after having vowed never to return (good thing he still had his passport!), the hat was again passed around in order for Ruppert to pay his debt and his lawyer and his doctors.

Finally settling back in Los Angeles, the place (see above) that Ruppert insisted upon leaving almost two years prior, and not having secured employment of any kind, he rented a house and boasted about his collection of new of owner’s manuals. He promised to pay his debt, as well as pay back whatever donations were given (or “loans” as he was now choosing to call them) during the time of his convalescence. He didn’t say anything about paying back the $60,000 in donations (loans?) that he raised in order to move from Los Angeles in the first place.

Being, that is, that the move to Oregon turned out to be a very unproductive waste of time.

And that the end of the world hadn’t yet arrived.

MCR speaks of the universe being on his side. In a way, I’m wondering if there may be something to that claim. Essentially, MCR’s luck has always been good, even when that which may seem like bad luck is really nothing more than the product of his own poor judgment (ex. Ashland, burglary, Venezuela) has come close to rendering into just another hobo. I say this, mostly out of my own sense of incredulity that this man — who has long out-lived his usefulness to anyone, including himself — can continue to live off the hard-earned cash of a few hundred people without securing any employment, ever. It makes me mad, disgusted, and, yes, again, sad that there are still people (a small number which may grow with this new movie of his) who apparently live and plan their lives according to whatever self-serving crap comes out of this man’s mouth. I’m speaking from the point of view of an ex-fan when I say that — someone who used to revere Ruppert as a good, decent man (before I got to know him, that is).

Mostly, it’s disbelief that washes over me knowing that, as his followers live and breath upon his every word, the chances of them coming to their senses isn’t likely. I have just as much of a chance convincing my mother that George Bush was not a good, decent man and that the government, to put it lightly, isn’t 100% honest with its citizens. MCR’s benefactors should be able to see that The Map is not the territory, take their blinders off an see that this beacon of light is nothing more than just a blogger, with no real connections to any of the cogs in the machine, who’s axe to grind against the system that he feels rejected him fuels his mad desire to have it burn to the ground as he lusts after the sort of power those in power possess.

So, no these postings on these websites are not in the least slanderous or libelous — definitely not when the subject is a public figure. They are a warning and a challenge to anyone who wants to waste their time on Michael C. Ruppert. (After all, it’s not like I’m not doing the exact same thing that MCR has made a career of).

MCR and his lawyer can saber rattle all they want.

I’m not going anywhere.

A Few More Points To Consider

December 2, 2009 1 comment

1)      When any agency or company, etc., makes an apology – a formal apology, which is really the only kind of apology that matters – that apology is made publicly and it is also put in writing. “The Ashland Police Department in 2007 and 2008 apologized first in front of attorney Ray Kohlman, and later Jenna Orkin,” wrote Mike Ruppert on July 8, 2009 (this was just one of many times Ruppert made this claim on his blog). Of course neither Jenna Orkin nor Ray Kohlman  issued statements backing up this claim —  and if they did it wouldn’t matter. Even if Mike Ruppert isn’t exactly lying here, but merely exaggerating because one of the Ashland cops said sorry for one thing or another, we still don’t have anything backing up Ruppert’s claim. Doesn’t it stand to reason that, given the somewhat high-profile nature of the case, the Ashland Police Department would have issued some kind of statement exonerating Mike Ruppert? Doesn’t it stand to reason that Ruppert, being the pit-bull that he is, would have raised holy hell?

2)      It’s very simple, y’all: Not long after Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman are murdered, O.J. runs away in the white Bronco after the police name him as a suspect in the case…Not long after the From The Wilderness office in Ashland, Oregon is burglarized, Mike Ruppert flees the country to Venezuela after being named a suspect by police – and one week before he is scheduled to take a lie-detector test.

3)      Mike Ruppert has never once mentioned Monica Psomas, an Ashland/Medford native, whom he hired as his personal assistant upon moving to Oregon. Not long after Lindsay Gerkin was fired from FTW, Ms. Psomas abruptly quit her job at FTW (June 13, 2006), rather than write an affidavit (which Mike Ruppert insisted all remaining employees write for him to send to Victor Thorn in response to a story regarding Gerkin’s claim of sexual harassment that had appeared on Thorn’s site June 12, 2006) stating that she had never seen Ruppert engage in any inappropriate behavior toward Lindsay Gerkin, or anyone else. She quit her job rather than lie, as not only had she seen Ruppert behave inappropriately towards Lindsay, but Monica herself had also been the object of Mike Ruppert’s attraction.

4)      December 3, 2008, Mike Ruppert wrote, “Don’t worry, after March I will be trumpeting the outcome of this hearing; then filing some suits of my own. I am known as being a very patient man when it comes to getting my personal justice.” But as it turned out (like much of what Mike Ruppert writes) none of it turned out to be true. For a few months, Mike Rupert’s Wikipedia page was offline. Recently, when it made it back online, this was written: concerning Lindsay Gerkin,  an unnamed ex-employee that Ruppert now accuses of committing the break-in, and an ex-reporter and an ex-editor of the Ashland, Oregon newspaper, The Ashland Daily Tidings, “He has no plans to continue civil cases of his own against them.” ….Now I admit that I’m not the most objective person when it comes to matters Mike Ruppert, but I think that if I had read both the former and then the latter statements, respectively, concerning someone that I do admire, a huge red flag would be raised. I mean, as of this writing, Mike Ruppert is currently in the process of appealing the BOLI decision, so he does have the time and the drive to pursue a case – even if it’s not with his own money. So why is he content to let the guilty slide? He’s hinted at having evidence supporting his claims that this ex-employee did this and that, but, oh, he’s content to let kharma handle the situation? Yeah, right. But, hey, either believe me or don’t, but I knew Mike Ruppert for a long time and, in spite of all his talk, is the least “spiritual” man I’ve ever known.

5)      As noted in the BOLI report, Mike Ruppert is “a highly articulate, productive investigative journalist who is capable of writing at great length and in great detail.” Well, I would dispute the “journalist” part, but I do agree that Mike Ruppet is verbal. He has a very big mouth. Remember the Mike Ruppert of the Truth and Lies fame? Back then it was all about documentation, the paper trail. That’s part of what I believe made him so successful in the 9/11 movement; his approach looked objective – and he wasn’t just talking: talk was cheap and he could back up what he said. Does anyone remember the beginning of Truth and Lies when he holds up a CIA memo regarding agents and drug trafficking? “This is black and white proof of a conspiracy,” he said. And, yes, there it was, on paper — very interesting, indeed. Look at his body of work over the years: there’s no such thing as enough supporting documentation. And that is exactly how you can tell he’s lying: he becomes very tight-lipped and makes claims that he does not bother to support.

To be continued…
