The “Map” Isn’t the Territory

On December 12, 2009, the webmaster for mikeruppert.org received a letter written by an attorney on behalf of Mike Ruppert (MCR), addressed to the site’s host, requesting that said website be removed from the web for committing slanderous, harassing acts aimed at Mr. Ruppert. Of course mikeruppert.org does nothing more than re-print the written BOLI decision, of which Mike Ruppert was the losing respondent in September, 2009. It’s not surprising that Ruppert would want the site taken down, as not only does it outline a string of bad behavior on behalf of MCR towards Lindsay Gerkin that is verifiable (unlike much of what MCR has been writing for the past ten years), but also mikeruppert.org makes said report available to MCR’s readers and anyone else who is interested in the BOLI decision, and who has been invited to read the BOLI decision for themselves by MCR on his blog, but haven’t had the chance, for when the decision was made public, Ruppert made no move to post the decision or a link to the decision on his blog.

This is unfortunate, given that virtually all of what MCR’s followers have come to know about the latest conspiracy to discredit Mike Ruppert (aka the Oregon sexual harassment case) on behalf of the federal government and various shadow interests (i.e.. certain personalities in the federal, local, and state government, as well as past employees of Ruppert) has come directly from specious and terse, coded comments and claims made by MCR on his blog. In fact, it’s sad, given that Ruppert’s readers have yet again found it in their hearts to donate more than a reported $14,000 dollars to fund an appeal for a case that they haven’t taken the time to research, much less read for themselves. Of course they’re probably used to it, as this isn’t the first time that MCR has asked for alms.

Within the period that MCR has been MCR, The Public Figure, The Guru, Whatever, he has amassed hundreds of thousands of dollars in donations. When I worked for him donations were solicited to help pay for the much-needed move to Oregon, according to Ruppert — something that we, From The Wilderness, would need to do before the collapse of society, which at the time Ruppert predicted would occur, at first, in December ’06, and then January ’07, and on and on and on. When January turned to February, MCR divined societal collapse sometime during the end of the 2007 spring. As a slippery slope, it’s for us to predict what he would have done next, but then, of course there was the burglary, which in a sense was just the sort of distracting, galvanizing event that From The Wilderness and Mike Ruppert needed. That is, until (in my opinion) Ruppert’s scheme to gain sympathy and credit by staging a burglary in his new Ashland, Oregon offices backfired and he was singled out by the Ashland Police Department as the probable, guilty suspect in the case. From The Wilderness, now Inc., was already on it’s way down the tubes when Ruppert pathetically fled the country and applied for amnesty in Venezuela. At that point, MCR’s prophesy of collapse was correct — only in as far as his business and fantasy of a future life as Lord of the Rogue valley was concerned.

Returning to the U.S. after having vowed never to return (good thing he still had his passport!), the hat was again passed around in order for Ruppert to pay his debt and his lawyer and his doctors.

Finally settling back in Los Angeles, the place (see above) that Ruppert insisted upon leaving almost two years prior, and not having secured employment of any kind, he rented a house and boasted about his collection of new of owner’s manuals. He promised to pay his debt, as well as pay back whatever donations were given (or “loans” as he was now choosing to call them) during the time of his convalescence. He didn’t say anything about paying back the $60,000 in donations (loans?) that he raised in order to move from Los Angeles in the first place.

Being, that is, that the move to Oregon turned out to be a very unproductive waste of time.

And that the end of the world hadn’t yet arrived.

MCR speaks of the universe being on his side. In a way, I’m wondering if there may be something to that claim. Essentially, MCR’s luck has always been good, even when that which may seem like bad luck is really nothing more than the product of his own poor judgment (ex. Ashland, burglary, Venezuela) has come close to rendering into just another hobo. I say this, mostly out of my own sense of incredulity that this man — who has long out-lived his usefulness to anyone, including himself — can continue to live off the hard-earned cash of a few hundred people without securing any employment, ever. It makes me mad, disgusted, and, yes, again, sad that there are still people (a small number which may grow with this new movie of his) who apparently live and plan their lives according to whatever self-serving crap comes out of this man’s mouth. I’m speaking from the point of view of an ex-fan when I say that — someone who used to revere Ruppert as a good, decent man (before I got to know him, that is).

Mostly, it’s disbelief that washes over me knowing that, as his followers live and breath upon his every word, the chances of them coming to their senses isn’t likely. I have just as much of a chance convincing my mother that George Bush was not a good, decent man and that the government, to put it lightly, isn’t 100% honest with its citizens. MCR’s benefactors should be able to see that The Map is not the territory, take their blinders off an see that this beacon of light is nothing more than just a blogger, with no real connections to any of the cogs in the machine, who’s axe to grind against the system that he feels rejected him fuels his mad desire to have it burn to the ground as he lusts after the sort of power those in power possess.

So, no these postings on these websites are not in the least slanderous or libelous — definitely not when the subject is a public figure. They are a warning and a challenge to anyone who wants to waste their time on Michael C. Ruppert. (After all, it’s not like I’m not doing the exact same thing that MCR has made a career of).

MCR and his lawyer can saber rattle all they want.

I’m not going anywhere.
